HQ ARRC Arrive in Romania for Defender Europe 21

Almost one hundred personnel from the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (ARRC) led by Deputy Commander, Major General Lorenzo D'Addario, arrived in Romania on Monday 24 May 2021. They will train together with Multinational Corps South East (HQ MNC-SE) and the United States Army Europe and Africa (USAREUR-AF) soldiers, during the DEFENDER Europe 2021 (DEF21) Command Post Exercise.

DEF21 is a major training event planned and led by USAREUR-AF during which HQ MNC-SE aims to increase readiness and interoperability within a multinational training environment. With the support of HQ ARRC, HQ MNC-SE will achieve Initial Operational Capability (IOC). The exercise is being conducted within both United Kingdom and Romanian national Covid guidelines.

The cooperation between HQ MNC-SE and HQ ARRC, was founded in the Mutual Training Support Agreement (MTSA) signed by both parties in May 2020. HQ ARRC will provide support and expertise to HQ MNC-SE throughout the operationalisation process, through IOC this year and to Final Operational Capability (FOC) in 2024.
