Exercise 'Defender Europe 20' announcement by US Army Europe

GLOUCESTER, U.K. - Following the current outbreak of the COVID-19 virus, the U.S. Army has taken a number of precautionary measures to reduce the unnecessary spread of the disease, including scaling down the U.S.-led multinational Exercise 'Defender Europe 20'.

As a result, two of the key phases of the exercise involving NATO's Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (ARRC) have been modified, including the cancellation of the 'Joint Warfare Assessment' to have been conducted in Graenwöhr, Germany during April.

Many details regarding the linked 'Allied Spirit' field training exercise due to take place in Poland during May are yet to be determined. More information regarding this key phase of the exercise, and the ARRC's continued involvement, will be published in due course.
