Local Services and Amenities

The Welfare Office provides a Welcome Pack to new personnel and families, when they move into a Service Family Accommodation (SFA), on arrival at the Unit.
A SFA Area Information Booklet is included in the Welcome Pack. There is a Booklet for each area - Ashchurch and Tewkesbury, Churchdown and Innsworth, Hucclecote, and Kingsway and Quedgeley.
The Booklet provides useful details and information on the services and amenities for each SFA Area - i.e doctors, dentists, health services, waste and recycling, post offices, libraries and supermarkets.

The AIC is an inclusive club set up for the partners of everybody posted, or attached to, the ARRC at Imjin Barracks (HQ ARRC, HQ 1 Signal Brigade and the ARRC Support Battalion). The AIC arranges events to bring together all nationalities represented at the ARRC. These include monthly lunches and coffee mornings, hosted by different nations, which give a real taste of each others customs, culture and cuisine! It is a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and learn more about the different nations that make up the Imjin Community.
Throughout the year, the AIC organises trips to places like Blenheim Palace, the Houses of Parliament and Ascot Races, as well as various other events and activities, ranging from tennis coaching to family bingo. There is also a walking club that meets regularly to explore the local countryside.
Innsworth Military Wives Choir, was started in February 2013, following the success of the TV series with Gareth Malone. Since the choir began, we have gone from strength to strength and provide a strong support network to each other.
We are a friendly and fun bunch of ladies, bonded by our connections to the military and a love for singing. We are led by our fantastic Musical Director Adrain Taylor and our accompanist James Quinn. We laugh a lot, sing a wide range of songs and quite often eat cake!
If you are new to the area and want to find a way to make new friends in the area then please get in contact with our Choir Lead (Sarah Coleby)via email. No auditions are necessary, just a love of singing and music. Wives of serving and current serving members of the Armed Forces are granted direct access to the choir.

We meet to rehearse in the ARRC Officer Mess Innsworth or in the Community Centre on a Wednesday evening from 1915-2130 hrs.
We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to our choir!
