Command Sergeant Major

Command Sergeant Major Andrew Morrison

Command SM Morrison enlisted into the Regular Army in 1998.  He passed out of training in early 1999 and joined his local Infantry regiment the 1st Bn "The Green Howards".  

Over the course of his career, he has been deployed on operations in Northern Ireland, Kosovo, Afghanistan, Cyprus and most recently Estonia where he was the RSM of the eFP BG on Op CABRIT 3. 

Throughout his career, he has also spent significant time serving within training establishments. He has completed two tours at the ITC(C), first as a Section Commander from 2003 to 2005, then post Op HERRICK 7 as a Platoon Sergeant from 2008 to 2010. He attended the Assistant Instructors Cadre at RMAS in the spring of 2010 and was successfully selected as a Colour Sergeant Instructor at the Academy from 2010 to 2012.

He has been married to Julie for 17 years. They have 2 sons, Frankie 18, and Billy 15. Julie is a Senior Health Care Assistant at the Nuffield Hospital in York. They also have a Parson's Terrier called Bernie and keep 3 chickens. He and his family all hail from Middlesbrough and are avid Middlesbrough FC fans.

He is a massive football and boxing fan and is a former Army Champion in both sports. In his spare time he enjoys gardening, listening to his vinyl collection, and long walks in the countryside with his family.
